Our birthing suites are thoughtfully designed to nurture your comfort and well-being, providing a serene space for your labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum journey. Within each private suite, you'll discover a multi-position birthing bed, a soothing private bathroom with a shower, and fetal monitoring and technology; all dedicated to offering you and your baby peace of mind and compassionate care.

Under specific circumstances, a doctor might determine that a C-section is a safer option for the mother, baby or both. The Family Birthing Center is equipped with specialized surgical suites and a skilled team prepared for these deliveries. After the procedure, our registered nurses will provide guidance on what to expect during your recovery.

Babies that need additional specialized services – feeding assistance, breathing support or incubation, for example – receive care at the Family Birthing Center. Our center is licensed as a Level II Continuing Care Nursery by the Arizona Department of Health Services and certified by the Arizona Perinatal Trust.

• Breastfeeding: Are you a first-time mom planning to breastfeed? Register for our Breastfeeding Works! class to gain essential tools for a successful and rewarding breastfeeding experience. Taught by Family Birthing Center nurse lactation consultants, there’s no charge for you or your partner to participate in Breastfeeding Works!, which is offered one Saturday a month from 9 a.m. to noon.

• Childbirth preparation class: Designed for expecting parents, our Childbirth Preparation class offers both engaging instruction and practical strategies for first-time moms and their partners. Designed for expectant mothers in their 30th week of pregnancy, this class explores solutions for late pregnancy discomforts, understanding the birthing process, learning pain management techniques, knowing what to expect during your hospital stay and mastering basic infant care, among other vital topics. This comprehensive, two-hour series runs for four weeks and is offered throughout the year.

The Family Birthing Center also offers:
