Oral appliance therapy – Oral appliance therapy uses a mouthguard to help with snoring and sleep apnea
Medication – Medication is a drug used to diagnose, treat or prevent illness
Weight management – Weight management involves healthy eating and exercise to maintain a healthy weight
Lifestyle changes – Lifestyle changes are healthy habit adjustments that improve your overall well-being
Cognitive behavioral therapy – Cognitive behavioral therapy is a type of talk therapy that helps with issues like depression and anxiety
Light treatment – Light treatment uses special lights to improve mood, especially for seasonal depression
Sleep latency test – This test measures how quickly you fall asleep during the day to check for excessive sleepiness
In-lab overnight sleep study – An in-lab sleep study is a comprehensive test done overnight to diagnose sleep problems
Home sleep apnea test – A home sleep apnea test is a simple device that monitors your breathing and oxygen while you sleep
Sleep apnea is a common condition that affects more than 12 million Americans. It causes frequent, short pauses in breathing throughout the night. This prevents you from getting deep sleep and can lead to low oxygen levels in your blood.
There are two types of sleep apnea:
Central sleep apnea – This occurs when your brain does not properly control your breathing during sleep
Obstructive sleep apnea – This happens when your throat muscles relax too much and block your airway while you sleep. Obstructive sleep apnea is a common disorder and often the main cause of extreme daytime sleepiness
We offer new treatment options, including upper airway stimulation therapy, a potentially life-changing alternative to a CPAP machine.
During a sleep study, small sensors gently track your brain activity, breathing, heart rate, oxygen levels, and body movements while you sleep. This helps our specialists understand your sleep and find any problems. Most overnight sleep studies last between six and eight hours. Daytime studies for conditions like narcolepsy may require multiple sessions.
You might need a sleep study if you often snore loudly, feel very tired during the day, have symptoms of sleep apnea, or struggle with falling asleep or staying asleep at night.
In most cases, yes. Your doctor will provide a referral for our sleep center based on your symptoms. Please check with us or your health care provider to confirm.
You can typically view your imaging results through your patient portal. We recommend discussing your results with your health care provider, who can explain what your test results mean for your health.
Your results are interpreted by a sleep specialist with special knowledge of sleep and its disorders.
Many insurance plans cover sleep studies, but since coverage is frequently updated, we recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific coverage details before your appointment.
