Your transplant team will evaluate your medical history, test results and other factors to see if transplant is the right option for you.
The transplant evaluation is a thorough medical and psychological assessment to determine if you’re a good candidate for transplant. It typically includes lab tests, imaging, consultations with doctors and specialists, and a review of your medical history. You may also meet with a social worker, dietitian and financial counselor. The goal is to make sure transplant is safe for you and likely to succeed. After the evaluation, the transplant team will review all the information and decide if you can be placed on the transplant waiting list.
