CHICAGO — July 29, 2025 — CommonSpirit Health, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems, today announced that more than half, 55, of its full-service acute care hospitals were recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its annual hospital rankings.
Of the 55 hospitals recognized, 12 were ranked among the top 25 in their state, with Virginia Mason Medical Center in Washington and St. Rose Dominican Hospitals-Siena Campus in Nevada ranking 1 and 2, respectively. Additionally, 13 CommonSpirit hospitals were recognized among the top 10 in their metro area - including Seattle, Chattanooga, Colorado Springs, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, and Sacramento. And, 15 hospitals received the “Best Regional Hospital” designation.

U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Hospitals rankings evaluates how well US adult hospitals provide 36 different types of care and identifies hospitals that excel at handling the most complex and difficult cases.
CommonSpirit Health hospitals ranked as high performing in several medical specialties, common procedures and conditions, including cancer, heart and vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, diabetes, and stroke, and several hospitals received top rankings in high-acuity specialty care including:
Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston was recognized as high performing in cancer and orthopedics and ranked in the top 50 in heart & vascular, gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, neurology & neurosurgery.
St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, home to Barrow Neurological Institute, ranked in the top 50 in neurology & neurosurgery and rehabilitation
Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle was recognized as high performing in geriatrics and gastroenterology & GI surgery. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health continues to excel in cardiovascular and cancer care, among other specialties.
