CHICAGO – March 23, 2026 – CommonSpirit Health has reached a three-year national agreement with Humana that will allow Humana members to maintain in-network access to CommonSpirit Health services, facilities, and providers across its 24-state footprint, including a reestablishment of the relationship in parts of Colorado and Texas. This successful conclusion to nearly a year of collaborative and transparent discussions with Humana reinforces CommonSpirit’s commitment to serving patients with Medicare Advantage under sustainable terms.
“From the beginning, our goal has always been to safeguard our patients' ability to access the essential health services they rely on,” said Harpreet Cheema, Senior Vice President of Payer Strategy and Analytics at CommonSpirit Health. “At a time when ensuring predictable access to care has become increasingly complex across the healthcare landscape, this agreement reflects our commitment to our Medicare Advantage patients, ensuring they can continue to see their trusted doctors and receive vital care within their own community.”
Both organizations underscored that the agreement was driven by a shared commitment to keeping patients at the center of care.
“Humana is committed to ensuring our members have uninterrupted access to the care and providers they rely on most,” said Caraline Coats, Senior Vice President of Provider Strategy and Operations at Humana. “We are pleased to reach this agreement with CommonSpirit Health so the individuals we serve can continue receiving high-quality, trusted care in their communities. This partnership reflects our shared focus on supporting better health outcomes and a dependable, patient-centered experience.”
CommonSpirit Health strongly believes that Medicare Advantage must work effectively and efficiently for patients and communities. As health systems and payers nationwide navigate the evolving dynamics of Medicare Advantage participation, CommonSpirit is actively leaning in to strengthen the program and ensure peace of mind for patients.
“We look forward to continuing to serve our patients and neighbors for generations to come, upholding our promise of compassionate, accessible care,” Cheema said.
