St. Joseph Health Celebrates Milestone in Advanced Joint Care

St. Joseph Health celebrates 500th robotic-assisted total knee replacement, marking a milestone in advanced joint care.

BRYAN, TX – (April 10, 2026) – St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital recently announced a significant milestone, celebrating its 500th robotic-assisted total knee replacement procedure. As the first hospital system in the Brazos Valley to offer this advanced technology, St. Joseph Health continues to lead in delivering cutting-edge orthopedic care.

This technology transforms joint replacement surgery by empowering surgeons with enhanced precision and a more predictable surgical experience, helping them "know more and cut less." This advanced system integrates 3D CT-based planning, haptic technology, and insightful data analytics, contributing to better outcomes for patients undergoing total and partial knee replacements.

"Achieving our 500th robotic-assisted total knee replacement is a testament to our commitment to innovation and patient-centered care," said Joseph Iero, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon at St. Joseph Health Orthopaedic Associates. "This technology allows us to tailor joint replacement to each individual patient, resulting in less pain, shorter hospital stays and often a quicker recovery. We are proud to bring this level of specialized care to the Brazos Valley."

"St. Joseph Health continues to be an innovator and leader in health care in the Brazos Valley," said Monte Bostwick, St. Joseph Health Market President. "We are immensely proud to be the first to bring this robotic orthopedic surgery to our community and to reach this remarkable 500th total knee replacement milestone. This further solidifies our tradition of providing industry-leading health care practices coupled with compassionate and comprehensive care for our patients."
