St. Joseph Health Rebrands to CommonSpirit Health

St. Joseph Health hospitals and care sites will adopt the CommonSpirit Health name, with the same exceptional care and no changes to patient services.

BRAZOS VALLEY, TX (October 5, 2026) — St. Joseph Health announces that, beginning in October 2026, hospitals and care sites across the Brazos Valley market will begin using the CommonSpirit Health name. The new facility names will reflect their shared identity as part of CommonSpirit Health while honoring St. Joseph Health’s trusted legacy in the community.

This change will not affect the care patients receive, their physicians or nurses, or the services available at any location.

New community hospital names include:

St. Joseph Health has been part of CommonSpirit since 2019. By formally adopting the CommonSpirit name, St. Joseph Health's 2,413 team members across five hospitals and over 25 care sites will more clearly reflect their connection to the national health system. CommonSpirit is one of the nation’s largest faith-based, nonprofit health care organizations, serving communities across 24 states.

“For nearly 90 years, St. Joseph Health has grown alongside the Brazos Valley, caring for our neighbors and responding to the changing needs of the communities we serve,” said Monte Bostwick, Market President. “Our updated name carries that legacy forward while more clearly reflecting who we are today as part of CommonSpirit. Together, we  remain committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care and creating a healthier future for the Brazos Valley.”
Patients and community members will start to be introduced to the new names through the Becoming CommonSpirit advertising campaign, which will highlight the organization’s unification and continued commitment to compassionate, high-quality care for the community

Combining the words “Common Good” and “Holy Spirit,” the CommonSpirit name was derived from scripture: “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good,” 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV). The name reflects the shared values of the hospitals and health systems that formed CommonSpirit in 2019, including St. Joseph Health.

In the coming months, patients and community members will begin to see the CommonSpirit name and logo appear throughout the Brazos Valley market. While the signs and names will change, the same dedicated care teams will continue serving these communities with the compassion and clinical excellence patients have long known and trusted.
