THE WOODLANDS, TX (March 4, 2026) – St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital is proud to announce its redesignation as a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) by DNV Healthcare USA Inc., effective January 2026 through January 2029. 

This emphasizes our unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of care for patients experiencing the most complex and severe stroke cases. We have proudly held this prestigious designation for over 10 years, and stand as one of only 11 Comprehensive Stroke Centers within the entire CommonSpirit network of hospitals nationwide.

The DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification Program integrates rigorous standards from the DNV NIAHO® Hospital Accreditation Program, CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, Guidelines of the Brain Attack Coalition, and recommendations of the American Stroke Association®. This demanding process ensures that certified centers meet the most stringent criteria for outstanding stroke care.

St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital is a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, uniquely equipped to treat even the most challenging stroke cases, including hemorrhagic strokes and brain aneurysms. Notably, it was also the first hospital in the Houston Metro area to administer tenecteplase for an acute ischemic stroke.

This elevated level of care is characterized by:

  • 24/7 specialized care: Immediate and continuous availability of highly specialized neuro-intensivists, neurosurgeons, and neuroradiologists, ensuring expert intervention at any moment.
