Kevin Potter, DO

Kevin Potter, DO, is a faculty provider at Dignity Health Medical Group Multispecialty – Westgate Clinic.

 He is a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Surgeon who specializes in all areas of the GI system. He is one of the only providers in State? who is credentialed to do the Linx Procedure. A new laparoscopic procedure to treat GERD. Additionally, Dr. Potter specializes in bariatrics and weight loss.

 Dr. Potter is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and a Minor in Chemistry. He graduated with his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University. He completed his General Surgery Internship, held the position of Chief Surgical Resident at Maricopa Medical Center. He went on to complete his fellowship in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic and Gastrointestinal Minimally Invasive Surgery. At Providence Cancer Center at Providence Portland Medical Center.

Dr. Potter was recognized in Phoenix Magazine’s Top Doc for Bariatrics Surgery three years in a row. He has a decorated award wall filled with honors of outstanding clinical performance, highest test scores, intern of the year and outstanding resident of the year. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Americas Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Association, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Potter believes that the decisions made on Patient’s care is best done in a team. This means everyone is on the same page in terms of process and the anticipated outcomes. “I listen to my patients. We work on a care plan that is best for them, that meets their expectations. I educate my patients so they know what to expect and can make an informed decisions,” said Kevin Potter, MD.
