Low-dose CT scans are a series of X-rays that check for nodules, masses or signs of lung cancer. It also provides a view of the heart, allowing us to calculate a cardiac calcium score to help assess heart disease or heart attack risk. Low-dose CT scans are the most effective screening method for lung cancer. You may benefit from low-dose CT scans if you currently smoke or have a history of smoking.
We offer screenings for eligible adults at our facilities and through our mobile lung CT coach, making it easier for patients who have difficulty getting to a traditional facility.
Most insurance plans cover the cost of lung CT screening if you meet the criteria. If you don’t have insurance and meet the criteria, we offer grants to cover the cost of screening. Call (423) 495-5864 (LUNG) to register for a low-dose lung CT screening or to schedule a mobile lung CT coach for an event.
