Marian Regional Medical Center has cared for Central Coast families for more than 85 years and continues to do so today. Our 191-bed hospital is consistently recognized for quality and safety, earning an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group.
We offer a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including a Level II trauma center, Level III NICU and nationally recognized heart care. We also have the region’s only Comprehensive Community Cancer Program at Mission Hope Cancer Center. Through Pacific Central Coast Health Centers, you also have access to primary care providers and specialists who work closely with our hospital to keep your care connected.

General Hours:
Our goal is to ensure that all patients are cared for in a safe environment and their health needs are met continuously. Enjoy flexible visiting hours, fresh foods, a gift shop and a healing garden for quiet reflection. Count on our caring staff to make your stay welcoming and stress-free.
We are devoted to delivering high-quality care to the communities we serve. Whether you need cost estimates or information about accepted insurance plans, we’re here to make the process simple and reassuring.
Visitors are a valued part of our patients’ care team, and your safety is important to us. Visiting hours are daily from 8 a.m.–8 p.m., with two visitors allowed per patient at a time (exceptions: pediatrics, NICU, labor and delivery with a care partner and doula, and compassionate care situations). Please wash your hands often and avoid visiting if you’re sick.
Visiting guidelines by unit
ICU: Limited to family only and visiting hours are 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
Emergency department: Visitors are allowed at staff discretion.
Preparing for a hospital visit can feel overwhelming, but preregistering helps make the process easier. By providing your information ahead of time, you’ll save time and reduce stress on the day of your appointment or admission. While we don’t yet offer online preregistration, our admitting team is here to help.
Please have these items with you when you call:

Volunteers are vital to Marian Regional Medical Center. They serve patients, families and staff in hospitality, gift shop, patient care, hospice and the Mission Hope Cancer Center. Hospice volunteers in particular bring comfort and companionship to patients and families, with special opportunities for musicians.
Adults and students (18 and 15 and older, respectively) may apply through our adult or youth volunteer programs. To learn more or apply, contact volunteer services at (805) 739-3520 or the hospice volunteer department at (805) 614-2032.
Yes. The Community Based Palliative Care Program at Marian Regional Medical Center specializes in medical care for people with serious illness, focused on relief from symptoms, pain and stress while supporting patients and families with care planning and treatment choices. Unlike hospice, palliative care can be provided at any stage of illness alongside curative treatments. Our team includes doctors, nurses, a social worker, chaplain and bereavement services, all working with your primary physician to improve quality of life. A referral is required; ask your doctor if it’s right for you.
We support the health of all patients regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity and expression. In addition, we understand the unique health needs of the LGBTQ community, and we work hard to ensure that patients receive quality, inclusive, culturally competent care. In 2024, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation recognized us in their 2024 Healthcare Equality Index for the compassionate care we provide.
Marian Regional Medical Center provides grief resources and spiritual support for all faiths and spiritual traditions, including access to a hospital chaplain. To request a visit upon admission, tell your nurse or call (805) 739-3131.
Our hospital offers spaces for prayer, reflection and healing. The main chapel (lobby level) is open daily from 8 a.m.–8 p.m., with a chapel balcony on the second floor available at all times near the critical care units. Services are occasionally held and broadcast on channel 88 in patient rooms (see chapel postings for details). A centrally located healing garden with a prayer labyrinth also provides a peaceful place for contemplation.
