Precision oncology (personalized and targeted cancer care)
Precision oncology is a highly personalized approach to cancer care. It allows us to customize your care based on the specific molecular makeup of your cancer. By studying cancer at the molecular level, we can identify unique genetic changes that may be driving its growth.
With this information, your doctor can recommend targeted treatments designed specifically for your type of cancer. These therapies often provide more focused treatment than traditional chemotherapy and may help reduce negative impacts on healthy cells. Our goal is to give you the most thoughtful, individualized and successful care possible.
Infusion therapy is a medical treatment that involves giving medications or fluids directly into a vein through an intravenous (IV) tube. It’s used when treatments need to work quickly, can’t be taken by mouth or need careful monitoring. Infusion therapy may be a treatment option for many different conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, infections and cancer.
The Oncology and Infusion Center provides all types of cancer infusion treatments close to home. When you visit our center, you’ll receive care from experienced nurses who provide a warm, supportive environment while you receive treatment.
Our infusion therapies include:
Blood and platelet transfusions
Immunotherapy infusion
Infusion of hydration, electrolytes and antiemetics (nausea and vomiting medication)
Coverage for infusion therapy typically depends on your individual insurance plan, the specific treatment, the location where it’s administered and whether it’s medically necessary. Contact your insurance provider to confirm what your plan includes.
Yes, CommonSpirit Health has dedicated regional resources called Patient Medication Assistance Program (PMAP) liaisons. The PMAP team assists patients with high-cost infusion medications by trying to find and sign up for manufacturer medication assistance programs where available. These programs decrease prescription costs with support such as copay assistance. To reach a PMAP liaison, please speak with the front desk staff at the Oncology and Infusion Center.
