Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital – Henderson offers complete rehabilitation care to help individuals in the Henderson area recover and get back to daily life. Our inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs offer physical, occupational and speech-language therapy, focused on helping you increase your independence and return to daily life.

Our interdisciplinary team includes physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses, dietitians, case managers, and physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapists. Acute rehabilitation is intensive, short-term therapy that helps you recover after a serious illness, injury or surgery. At Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital – Hendersen, our comprehensive rehabilitation programs are designed to help restore strength and improve physical and cognitive function. We also work with patients to help them increase independence in daily activities, such as dressing, grooming and eating.

We use advanced technology and evidence-based treatments to support recovery and improve daily function. Our therapies include:

  • Body-weight–supported treadmill training and electrical stimulation to improve balance and gait

  • Computer-based exercises to improve cognitive skills

  • Electrical stimulation and mirror therapy to improve arm and hand function

  • Functional electrical stimulation to reduce muscle atrophy

  • Medication to manage stiff muscles

The length of your stay is determined by your medical and rehabilitation needs, goals and progress. Your case manager will work closely with you, your doctors and your family members to coordinate a safe, timely and successful discharge.

At Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital – Hendersen, you’ll spend your days working toward rehabilitation goals. You will typically have therapy sessions in the mornings and afternoons. You can expect to engage in a minimum of three hours of physical, occupational or speech therapies per day, five days a week. 

You will also participate in recreation activities throughout the day and early evening that help reinforce skills you learn during therapy. We make sure to leave space in your schedule for rest, relaxation and visits with friends and family.

Your case manager will work with you and your family to plan your discharge. Throughout your stay, your Dignity Health Rehabilitation hospital care team will evaluate your recovery progress. They will recommend discharge based on your health, individual goals and ability to function. When you’re ready for discharge, your case manager will help coordinate your transition back home and connect you to continued care, if needed. Discharge times vary based on medical needs and personal goals.

Referral requirements depend on your insurance plan and the type of therapy you need. Some plans allow direct access to rehabilitation therapy, while others require a referral from a physician. Our therapy team can help answer referral questions and assist with scheduling your appointment.

Most health insurance plans cover rehabilitation therapy services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Coverage details may vary based on your plan, diagnosis and whether you receive inpatient or outpatient services.
