Physical therapy can help people of all ages who are recovering from surgery, injury, stroke or a hospital stay. It also supports individuals managing chronic conditions that affect movement, balance, speech or daily tasks. Therapy focuses on helping patients regain confidence, rebuild strength and safely return to activities that matter most to them.

At your first visit, your therapist will review your medical history, current symptoms and recovery goals. They may assess strength, movement, balance or function, depending on your needs. Together, you’ll develop a personalized therapy plan and discuss what to expect during future sessions. Your therapist will also share tips to support progress between visits. To learn more or to make an appointment, call us at (209) 754-6200.

Inpatient physical therapy is for patients who are staying at the hospital. This type of on-site program provides daily intensive therapy and medical support following an injury, illness or surgical treatment. Outpatient physical therapy allows patients to get treatment during scheduled visits while continuing to live at home. Both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs focus on helping you regain function and independence.

The length of physical therapy varies based on each person’s condition, progress and goals. Some patients may need only a few weeks of therapy, while others benefit from longer-term services. Your Dignity Health Physical Therapy care team will regularly evaluate your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.

Most major insurance plans cover physical therapy services when medically necessary. Physical therapy visits must be prescribed by a physician. Ask your insurance provider or call us at (209) 754-6200 to understand what your specific plan requires.
