Learn more about family medicine

Our primary care team includes family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs). They’re focused on building long-term relationships with you and your family.

An advanced practice provider (APP) is a health care professional who has advanced education and clinical training, allowing them to take on a broader scope of practice and perform tasks traditionally carried out by physicians. This category includes nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), certified nurse midwives (CNMs) and clinical nurse specialists (CNSs).

These professionals play a crucial role in providing health care services, including diagnosing and treating medical conditions, prescribing medications and offering preventive care.

No, you don’t need a pelvic exam or Pap test at every well-woman visit. You can ask what exams or tests may be recommended when you schedule your appointment.

We perform a pelvic exam or Pap test only when medically necessary or recommended based on your age, symptoms and health history. Many visits, such as sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing or menopause consultations, do not require a pelvic exam.
