A ministry of healing
Our goal is to help you feel your best. We're focused on providing excellent, affordable health care with compassion. Since 1912, we've focused on creating environments that support each patient's physical, mental and spiritual needs. We believe this healing approach also benefits our staff and the communities they serve.
Our history
Building stronger communities together
We believe everyone deserves the chance to be healthy and are committed to improving the communities where we live, work, learn and pray.
Every three years, our hospitals conduct Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs) to better understand and respond to the health concerns that matter most to our community. We use data and community input to identify top health priorities, then create programs and investments that help improve well-being.
Through strong partnerships with local organizations and our communities, we remain dedicated to providing care and services that truly reflect your needs.

As part of CommonSpirit Health, our mission is to deliver compassionate, high-quality, affordable care to every member of our community. Guided by our values, we embrace diversity and treat every person with dignity and respect. We do not exclude or deny services to anyone based on race, color, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. This commitment applies across all programs, services and employment.
Welcoming visitors
At our hospitals, patients have the right to choose their visitors. We welcome family, friends and loved ones who provide care and support. Visitation will never be denied or limited based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or disability.
LGBTQIA+ Care
At Dignity Health, we believe everyone deserves high-quality health care. We understand the history of discrimination faced by the LGBTQIA+ community in health care settings. That's why we're committed to providing respectful, welcoming and knowledgeable care, free from bias. Use our Find a Doctor tool to locate an LGBTQIA+ care provider near you.
At Dignity Health, safety is our highest priority for patients and caregivers. All our hospitals follow Highly Reliable Organization (HRO) principles, with every employee trained to recognize and prevent safety issues. These practices help us deliver consistently safe, reliable care. We also take part in public reporting, including the Hospital Quality Transparency Dashboard, to share results openly and help patients make informed choices. Select from the list below to see your hospital’s results compared with state and national averages. Lower numbers mean better care.

St. John’s Healthcare Foundation raises and manages vital funds for Dignity Health St. John’s Hospitals in Oxnard and Camarillo, contributing to patient care, medical research, and training for doctors and nurses. Your contributions help us advance treatments, expand services and care for those who need it most.
You can also make an impact by volunteering. St. John’s hospitals’ volunteers bring comfort, warmth and personal connection to patients while supporting our staff. It’s a meaningful way to give back and share in our mission of healing with humankindness.
The California End of Life Option Act took effect on June 9, 2016, allowing physicians to prescribe life-ending medication to eligible patients. The law lets individual clinicians or health systems choose whether to participate. Dignity Health does not take part in activities under this law. This applies to all our hospitals, home care, hospice programs and physicians in the Dignity Health Medical Foundation. Our mission is to provide compassionate care without intentionally hastening or delaying death. We focus on comfort, dignity and supporting life’s natural journey.
We offer high-quality palliative care and honor a patient’s right to decline treatments they feel are too burdensome. Patients seeking more information about the Act will be referred to their primary care physician. For more details, speak with your doctor or visit the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California.
