OB/GYNs provide care for women of all ages. These physicians practice both gynecology and obstetrics — the medicine and science of childbirth and its aftercare.

Between the ages of 13-15 is the ideal time for someone’s first OB/GYN appointment. Your first visit can include a discussion with your doctor about your vaginal health and sexual history. You may also have a few exams, such as a general physical and an external exam of your genitals. It is unlikely that you will need to have a pelvic exam or a Pap test at your first gynecology appointment.

Make sure to first understand why you’re going to see your OB/GYN. This is also the perfect time to ask your OB/GYN any questions you may have. Prepare a list of things you’ve been wanting to know so you can discuss them with your doctor.

Yes, you can still see your OB/GYN while on your period. Menstrual bleeding will not interfere with a pelvic exam.

After your first positive pregnancy test, most OB/GYNs will see you within 8 weeks after your last menstrual cycle.

Caritas Women’s Care offers onsite education about two innovative, natural approaches to reproductive health: the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System (CrMS) and NaProTECHNOLOGY™. These science-based methods help women track their fertility, address underlying health concerns and plan their families using personalized, non-hormonal solutions.

Yes. Our fully-integrated women’s center offers private labor and delivery, recovery and postpartum and c-section suites. We also have a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with neonatologists on staff.

The most common reasons your physician might recommend a C-section include:

  • Your baby is too big for your pelvis.

  • Your baby does not tolerate labor and it is safer for the baby to be born by cesarean section.

  • Your contractions are not strong enough to fully dilate your cervix.

We accept most major insurance plans. All insurance copays, coinsurance and deductibles are due at the time of service. Please be prepared to settle these before you leave our office.

To ensure accurate billing and timely communication, please inform our office of any changes to your address, phone number or insurance information. This helps us file claims correctly and avoid unnecessary billing issues.
