Physiatry (also called physical medicine and rehabilitation) uses a holistic approach to treat pain. Our physiatrists look for the causes of your pain and how it’s affecting your body.

Our physiatry team provides the following treatments:

• Botox treatments for chronic migraines, post-stroke spasticity and cervical dystonia

• Nerve blocks and nerve testing with electromyography (EMG)

• Peripheral nerve block

• Regenerative prolotherapy for joint and muscle pain

• Serial casting, splinting and bracing to gradually improve range of motion

• Treatments for myofascial pain and neuropathic pain/neuralgia 

• Trigger point injections

• Ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided injections for the spine

• Ultrasound-guided tendon and joint injections

The team at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Group Physiatry & Interventional Pain Management diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions, including:

• Arthritis pain

• Chronic pain

Your care team consists of board-certified physiatrists, also known as physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors. They have specialized knowledge in diagnosing and treating conditions that cause pain and limit your movement.

You will receive an automated telephone call or text message to remind you of your appointments. Please arrive 15–30 minutes early to allow time for parking, check-in and filling out patient forms. Bring your copayment (if applicable), current medication list, insurance card and photo ID.

Referral requirements depend on your insurance plan and the type of therapy you need. Some plans allow direct access to rehabilitation therapy, while others require a referral from a physician. Our therapy team can help answer referral questions and assist with scheduling your appointment.
