Our cardiologists diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions using advanced imaging technologies that provide highly detailed pictures of the heart and veins. We provide advanced cardiovascular care, including treatments for heart attack, heart failure, hypertension and arrhythmias. When appropriate, we use minimally invasive treatment options, which support precision, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times.

At Mercy San Juan Medical Center, we use advanced hybrid cardiovascular catheterization/surgical suites, which can enhance the accuracy and outcomes of heart surgery. Our Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) for providing high-quality care. Additionally, we are recognized by the Joint Commission as a certified Chest Pain Center.

Knowing your heart disease risk can help you take steps to support your heart health. Start with your primary care provider for an initial assessment. They may evaluate factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking history and family history, and suggest tests like blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings or an electrocardiogram (EKG).

Many major health insurance plans cover heart services, including office visits, diagnostic testing and ongoing treatment. Coverage can vary based on your plan, provider network and whether a referral is required. Our staff can help verify insurance coverage, explain benefits and answer questions before your appointment, so you can focus on your care.

In many cases, yes. Some insurance plans allow you to schedule directly with a cardiology clinic. Others may require a referral from your doctor. If you’re unsure, check with your primary care provider (PCP).
