For more than a century, Community Hospital of San Bernardino has proudly served local families, working hand in hand with our sister hospital, St. Bernardine Medical Center, to improve the health and well-being of our community.
We’re a not-for-profit, award-winning hospital accredited by The Joint Commission, offering compassionate, high-quality care close to home. Our hospital is especially known for maternity and behavioral health services, as well as outpatient surgery, intensive and critical care, and long-term adult subacute and child subacute care.
As a Disproportionate Share Hospital, we’re committed to caring for everyone in our community, including those without private insurance, Medicare or Medi-Cal. This approach helps ensure that quality care is accessible to all.

Visitors are a valued part of our patients’ care team, and your safety is important to us. We welcome visitors daily from 8 a.m.–8 p.m. to support your loved ones’ care. Talk with the nurse about any special needs. For privacy, the ICU closes during shift changes.
For everyone’s safety, all visitors must check in through our visitor management system. A government-issued ID (such as a driver’s license or passport) is required. Those without ID may provide their name and photo. Visitors who decline identification cannot be admitted.
Please wash your hands often and avoid visiting if you’re sick. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, healing environment for all patients and families.

The Health Education Center at Community Hospital of San Bernardino supports families and community members with practical tools for healthier living. Services include free classes on nutrition, diabetes, heart health, parenting and stress management. Our team also partners with local organizations to bring resources, screenings and education directly to the community. Whether it’s learning a new skill, joining a support group or connecting to care, the Health Education Center is a welcoming space where everyone can find support for their health and well-being.
We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals who wish to volunteer. Our K.A.R.E. team includes nonstudent volunteers who serve in different areas throughout the hospital. Our Stepping Stones program allows teen and young adult volunteers (ages 16-24) to gain valuable hospital workplace experience.
If you or someone you know is interested in any of these programs, please contact the volunteer services manager at (909) 806-1260.
Save time and stress on the day of your visit. For questions or to preregister, call our admitting team at (909) 806-1777.
