An endoscopy can be done for both screening and diagnostic purposes. In both situations, the procedure is the same. However, a screening endoscopy is done as part of a routine health check to look for early signs of disease, whereas a diagnostic endoscopy is done to confirm the presence of disease when it is already suspected. Examples of endoscopies include colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD).

Lymph node biopsy is a procedure in which all or part of your lymph node is removed and checked under a microscope for signs of infection or disease. A lymph node biopsy can help your doctor identify:
