Outpatient surgery, sometimes called same-day surgery or ambulatory surgery, is a surgical procedure that lets you go home the same day as your operation. Many outpatient surgeries use minimally invasive techniques, which often lead to a faster recovery and fewer complications. At Mercy General Hospital, your care team will monitor you closely before, during and after the procedure to ensure your safety and comfort.

If there is a need to admit you to Mercy General Hospital after your procedure, we will facilitate your admission for additional inpatient care.

Within five days of your procedure, you will be contacted by a pre-admission nurse to review your health history, medications and diet restrictions. This is also a good time to ask any questions you may have.

Paid parking is available in the Mercy Medical Plaza lot off 39th Street. Free street parking is available nearby for up to two hours; please check posted signs for restrictions. 24-hour parking is also available in the on-site garage off H Street ($2/30 minutes, maximum $12/day) and free valet is available at the main hospital entrance.
