We believe every patient deserves care that reflects their values, wishes and dignity. Advance directives give you the opportunity to share your wishes for medical care if you’re unable to speak for yourself. It can outline preferences for life-sustaining treatment, pain control and name someone to make decisions on your behalf.
If you already have an advance directive, please bring a copy with you when you come to the hospital. If you don’t, you can complete a form during your stay or download one in English or Spanish. Our chaplains, case managers, discharge planners and social workers are here to help you through the process.
Volunteers are an integral part of Mercy General Hospital, extending non-clinical care and compassion to all patients and visitors. Our volunteers include students, working adults and retirees.
